Harbor Gaze (2025) Original

Oil on Canvas | 18 x 24 in

Painted alongside Bird House, Antelope Island, this piece was inspired by a series of stunning photographs by @carolsscheid, whose permission made this work possible. Reimagined through my own lens, the scene captures a quiet moment shared between a woman, her dog, and the sea.

The composition naturally unfolds into three distinct sections, gently guiding the eye toward the harbor at the center. The woman stands at the edge—caught in contemplation—while her loyal companion meets our gaze directly, as if inviting us into their tranquil world.

Why collectors should own this piece:

Harbor Gaze is a quiet yet powerful reflection on solitude, loyalty, and choice. With its gentle atmosphere and emotionally layered composition, this painting draws viewers into a narrative moment that lingers. The gaze of the dog—direct and unflinching—adds a rare point of connection that makes the piece deeply personal. Exhibited in two regional shows, Harbor Gaze carries curatorial recognition and represents a key work in Orozco’s evolving practice, making it an excellent acquisition for collectors of contemporary figurative and narrative art.

Inspired by a strikingly rustic birdhouse perched near the Antelope Island Visitor Center, this piece captures the quiet strength of solitude set against a vast, open landscape. The weathered wood and gentle shadows reflect the timeless charm of the island’s stillness.

Why collectors should own this piece:

Birdhouse blends rustic charm with a bold, modern sensibility. Inspired by weathered textures and rural stillness, this piece stands out for its rich color palette and layered surface details. It evokes both nostalgia and quiet strength—ideal for collectors drawn to works that bridge the natural and the emotional. As an original painting that balances simplicity with texture-driven depth, Birdhouse offers lasting visual interest and makes a meaningful addition to any contemporary or nature-inspired art collection.
