Hi, I’m Joshua Orozco — a Filipino-American painter based in San Diego, California.
My work explores the quiet power of observation, identity, and memory through layered compositions in oil and mixed media. From textured landscapes to intimate portraits, I use color and form to reflect on the complexities of being seen — both by others and by ourselves.
I’m deeply inspired by the natural world, queer identity, and personal moments that often go unnoticed. Each painting invites the viewer to slow down, look closer, and feel something they didn’t expect.
When I’m not painting, I serve as a U.S. Navy Sailor, which informs the discipline and depth I bring to my art practice. I’ve exhibited work at regional fine art shows, including the Ashton Gallery, San Diego County Fair and The Studio Door gallery, with more to come.
Thanks for stopping by — I hope my art speaks to something within you.
What does "blueprintAko" mean?
The name “blueprintAko” blends two ideas that are central to who I am. “Blueprint” represents design, intention, and construction — a nod to both my visual storytelling and the structured discipline I’ve developed through my Navy career. “Ako” means “me” in Filipino, grounding the name in my cultural identity. Together, “blueprintAko” is a declaration: this is my design, my voice, my story in progress. It reflects my journey as a queer Filipino-American artist, navigating the layers of self, memory, and visibility through every brushstroke.
